This ad for the Plano Harvester and Binder dates from the 1870s, but I'd recognize the shape of that machine any time.
I was born and raised in Plano, Illinois and our High School teams were the Plano Reapers. At one point in the 1870s, Plano was shipping nearly 500 of their harvesters per year to farmers all over the US. There's no remaining evidence of anything associated to the Plano Harvester company, but the teams are the Reapers and a logo based on the piece of equipment has been used in my lifetime.
I still remember the words to the high school song!
